About Odisa Public Service Commission (OPSC):-

The Odisha Publisc Service Commission (OPSC) was constituted on 1st April, 1949, after its bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission, Currently Odisha Publisc Service Commission (OPSC) comprises of 6 members (Chairman & 5other members).

The main function of The Odisha Publisc Service Commission (OPSC) is to take care of matters of selection of manpower to various services of the Government of Odisha, Advising on framing of recruitment rules and its amendments/Promotion for the recruitment and conditions of services of Group ‘B’ posts/services carrying scale pay of Rs. 6500-200-10,500/- and above and Group ‘A’ posts/services.

Educational Qualification:-
Candidates applying for the post of Scientific Officer should have done masters degree with minimum 66% of marks in respective discipline.

Eligibility Conditions:-
  • Applying candidates should be citizen of India.
  • Candidates should be fluent in speaking, reading and writing Odia fluently and should also have passed a examination in Odia.
  • Applying candidates should be medically fit which will be checked at the later stage before appointment.
Age Limit:-
  •  Age of the applying candidate should be ablove21 years and below 32 years.
Application Fee:- 
  • Applying candidates need to submit the fees of Rs. 200.00/-
*Note: Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and persons with disability not less than 40% are exempted of Application fee. 

How To Apply: -

Interested candidates need to apply online and be sure that he fulfills the eligibility criteria. Before applying candidates need to be ready with the undermentioned documents, as it will be required at the time filling application.
  • Scanned image of  passport size Photograph 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm  (25kb-100 kb)
  • Scanned image of Signature 3.5 cm x 1.5cm (preferred) (10KB – 50KB)
  • Scanned image of left thumb impression 3.5 cm x 1.5cm (preferred) (10KB – 50KB)
  1. To apply online candidates need to click on “Apply Online”  link against the post of Scientific Officer.
  2. Applicants are advised to fill in the details correctly and provide valid details.
  3. After successful submission of application form a unique registration ID will be displayed, candidates need to note this for future use.
  4. After this candidates have to download the challan form and submit the application fee in any of the SBI Branches.
  5. Finally applicants for the post of Scientific Officer need to reprint their online submitted application form by Clicking on “Application Reprint”, where they have to provide the registration number.
  6. The submission of application is not complete unless the duly signed hard copy of online submitted application is sent to the address mentioned below along with the required documents.

Relevant Documents To Be Submitted:- 
The Photocopy of original documents should be signed by the candidate or Gazetted Officer or Notary Public. The candidates are also required to mention on each document "Submitted By Me” and put their full signature on the same, below mentioned documents are required to be submitted:-
  1. H.S.C. or equivalent certificate
  2. Intermediate/+2 Examination Certificate
  3. Bachelor Degree certificate
  4. Master Degree Certificate
  5. Mark-lists in support of all the examinations passed (i.e. H.S.C. to Master Degree) issued by the concerned Board / Council /University.
  6. Candidates who have been awarded GRADE MARKS”, should produce the conversion certificate from the concerned University.
  7. While filling online application form details of marks secured in each Annual examination is to be mentioned.
  8. Two recent passport size photographs, same as uploaded online.
  9. OPSC copy of Challan
  10. Certificates of conduct from the last attended College or University.
  11. Caste Certificate by birth (if applicable)
  12. Odia pass certificate
  13. Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  14. Discharge Certificates issued by the Commanding Officer of the Unit last served wherever applicable.
  15. If a candidate claims to possess qualification, equivalent to the prescribed qualification, the rule/authority (With number and date) under which it is so treated, must be furnished with the Application Form
